Dash for Dignity

The 25th annual Dash for Dignity is a community-wide event, sponsored by Dallas Medical Center, that includes a timed 5K race throughout the flat streets of Farmers Branch, a 1-mile Dignity Parade, Carnival and Health Fair.

Achieve is inviting hundreds of people with disabilities and children throughout our community from local schools, area non-profit organizations, group homes, and foster families to walk in the parade and attend the carnival for free. Dallas Medical Center is providing free cholesterol checks and will have booths that offer important health screening for the entire family. As always, Mike Doocy of Fox 4 Sports will be our master of ceremonies, broadcasting live. Look forward to food trucks, costume contests, live music, 5K awards, and finishing medals! Thanks to our corporate sponsors, ISD high school athletic teams run in the 5K for free! We anticipate more than 1,000 attendees, and the event will reach hundreds of thousands more thanks to our generous media partners and marketing efforts.

Achieve is also partnering with the LV Project to offer two adults with disabilities from Achieve, unable to run in the 5K, the opportunity to be paired with an athlete trained to push a racing chair designed for people with disabilities.

Proceeds for the Dash are received through team fundraising, individual contributions, and corporate sponsors to support Achieve’s mission to empower adults with disabilities and our veterans to achieve their highest level of independence and employment.

We are still looking for Sponsors, Team Captains, and Volunteers. Your support allows you to make a difference in the lives of area adults with disabilities and their families. Don’t let this chance to make a difference pass you by!For more details contact Kathi Sebastian via email.
